In our series Community Threads, we bring together the creative individuals who make up our TOAST shop teams and explore the ways in which they thoughtfully style pieces from our new collections.

This instalment focuses on our recently opened Boston shop, housed in a 19th-century building on Newbury Street. The mile-long street is known for its mix of historic brownstones, vibrant culinary scene and respected art institutions.

Samantha

Samantha, one of the first team members at this location, enjoys discovering independent businesses around Boston. “The Cambridge Artists' Cooperative is a short journey from our store by train and is filled with handmade objects by many local artists.” Lately, she has been spending her free time reading Bel Canto by Ann Patchett and playing Sudoku.

Samantha is 5’7” and wears a US size 10. She was drawn to the “A-line shape and beautiful movement” of the Garland Stripe Cotton Skirt, paired here with the matching Smock Top.

Eben

Eben joined TOAST Boston in December, and will soon be relocating to our new Philadelphia shop. During his time on Newbury Street, he has frequented the South West Corridor Path, which offers “an intimate look into the public gardens and recreational spaces of the historic South End.” This month, he is reading The Country Life by Rachel Cusk. “I recently found this novel at one of my favourite used book stores, and have been working my way through it since.”

Eben is 5’10” and wears a size M in the Elis Garment Dyed Oxford Shirt and a 32” waist in the Gabriel Cotton Canvas Trousers, along with the Fracap Fred Buckle Sandals. “Something I appreciate about both garments is the attention to detail and quality of materials.”

Fiona

Fiona has been working at TOAST Boston since early 2026. Her favourite place to visit in the city is Mount Auburn Cemetery. “There is so much to learn about horticulture and ponder about life in there – I could get lost for hours and hours.” She is currently listening to Gabi Abrão’s philosophy podcast Clearpilled and watching the TV show Severance, both “addictive in different ways.”

Fiona is 5’8” and wears a US size 4. Here, she styles the Fine Stripe Wool Cashmere Half Sleeve Sweater and Carys Cotton Wide Leg Trousers. “I love how breathable and flattering everything I have from TOAST is. The pieces just feel so good and natural on.”

Jaidee

Alongside working at TOAST, Jaidee volunteers with the Boston Food Activists. “We gather outside the Boston Public Library and share food with the community. Inviting passerbys to help out is always a nice way to end the day on Newbury Street.” She enjoys fantasy books and TV shows, particularly the House of the Dragon series.

Jaidee is 5’8” and wears a US size 0 in the Garland Stripe Cotton Shirt Dress.
