Brass pear decoration handmade by artisans in Uttarakhand, northern India, supported by by Fair Trade cooperative Sasha, which TOAST has worked with for over ten years. Hand-cut with a hand-hammered edge, then finished with a cotton tassel on the hanging loop. Being handmade, each is unique with natural variation in colour and texture.

Making Our Hammered Metal Decorations
Our decorations are handcrafted from metal by artisans in the Himalayan valleys of northern India, supported by Fair Trade cooperative Sasha, which TOAST has worked with for over ten years.Â
The shapes are first drawn onto sheets of copper or brass using a stencil. Next, they are cut out using a fine hacksaw, before the edges are sanded down to a smooth finish. The metal is then hammered by hand to create the desired textural effect. Finally, a hole is drilled into the shape, and the hanging loop is attached.
