Bert Jones Ceramics
Just outside Newport, Wales, potter Bert Jones works from a converted shipping container studio in the countryside. Drawing on architecture, abstract sculpture and modernist design, he creates ceramics for everyday use. Natural glazes and clay tones complement the thrown forms of his pared-back pieces, from mugs and ramen bowls to bud vases and incense holders.

Hand-thrown from stoneware clay to a straight, tapered shape and finished with a speckled celadon glaze. The finger marks are visible at the base, indicating where it has been held while dipping in the glaze. Each varies slightly in shape and colour.
